The Epic Story

Epic Capital Wealth Management located in Charlotte, NC was founded in 2009. Led by senior Financial Advisor Ed Doughty, CFP® who has 30 years of financial planning and investment management experience.

Having personally seen both ends of the wealth spectrum growing up, Ed leads his firm with a compassionate understanding that everyone’s financial story is different, and therefore every plan created needs to take into account many things that don’t always start with a dollar sign.

We value our clients’ time, and we respect the fact that they have lives outside of their finances.

Serving families both locally and throughout the United States, Epic Capital distinguishes itself from other investment management and financial planning firms by not adhering to some sort of pre-set or quota-based agenda. Our clients’ individualized needs, their resources, and their overall level of interest and time, dictate the path we take with each unique relationship.

The Epic Experience

Upon contacting us, the focus of the conversation will be on you, the purpose of your call, any underlying concerns or immediate needs, and of course, you can ask a lot of questions about us.

Should you choose to continue the discussion, we then schedule (due to the COVID-19 Pandemic) a virtual meeting and send you a Confidential Client Profile which takes about 15-minutes to fill out. This will give the financial advisor a foundation upon which the upcoming conversation can build, and get the wheels turning for how we can best serve you.

In the upcoming (virtual) meeting, the financial advisor will further expand upon the initial conversation, share insights derived from your profile responses, uncover additional details, and offer possible wealth strategies to consider.

We recognize that money does not define someone; money simply helps define the things that are important to someone – and we look to find out what those things are.

If after this conversation you decide that our firm is a good fit for you, and we feel as though the services we provide can truly add value, then we get started … you dictate the pace at which we move forward, how much time you have to spend, and which services you’d like to retain.

Come experience the Epic Experience for yourself, we welcome the opportunity to meet with you.
